Take in example a heard of horses. There is always a leader. One graphicly strong born horse, usually a stallion, which takes the role of leader and guides the heard through natures endeavors. That horse decides where they go, when the flee, where they graze, and all other aspects of the heard. The horses give up their natural right to be alone and do whatever they command because they also know its natures unravel to use them as food for predators, natural elements can mischief and kill them, and that they have a lower probability at survival alone than in a group.

Humans pronto give up their individual autonomy to be ruled in order to escape the mutiny that humans first lived in. When one human tribe met another, they could all chose to let the other tribe trample them and take what they want or fight. Their decision was usually based on their altitude compared to the other band or tribe. If they were the bigger and stronger tribe, then theyd do what they want.
