The Catholic and Lutheran reformations were revolutionary events in history in which the Christian faith divided into the different sects that exist today, Catholicism and Protestantism. The Lutheran reformation is when Luther studied scriptures and came to the conclusion that the papacy was an invalid power and corrupt. The catholic reformation was the Catholic Churchs attempt to solving corruption and other serious issues within the Catholic Church. This was overly dvirtuoso to reform the catholic church so it is more than stiring and hence, less conversions to protestant branches of Christianity such and Lutheranism. These two events were confusable and different in two aspects: they were different because while the Lutheran reformation had many doctrinal changes, the catholic reforms made no revisions whatsoever to the beliefs of the catholic church; and they were similar because they both determined many corrupt practices which was critical for both Protestantism and Catholicism because it added an appeal to the two sects of Christianity allowing either of them to gain popularity.
The most apparent contravention between the two reformations was the changes in the doctrines of Catholicism and Lutheranism.



The Lutheran reformation brought on many changes to the catholic belief system and the catholic reformation yielded no changes to doctrine. One example of these doctrinal changes in the Lutheran doctrine is consubstantiation and transubstantiation. Catholics believed in transubstantiation which is that once one drinks the wine and eats the prize in communication; the moolah and wine turn into the blood and flesh.
